ABOUT THE TEAM
The Anduril Imaging team developsstate-of-the-artimaging systems across both hardware and software deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The team is heavily involved inutilizingcomputer vision perception electro-optical infrared and sensor data to give our war fighters and allies an advantage.
ABOUT THE JOB:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team focusing on the design and developmentadvanced complexopto-mechanical and structural and electronics packing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design development analysis and manufacturing tasks on complex mechanical hardware including precision space structures and mechanisms in a program team environment.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Develop cutting-edge infrared sensors.
- Design high-precision and complex space opto-mechanicalimaging systems
- Develop and perform testing to show proof-of-design and/or qualification ofnew designs.
- Utilize first principles physics as a basis for all decisions.
- Build prototypes analyze failures and transition successful projects into production.
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed.
- Execute in-depth and rigorous opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical designs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelorsin mechanical engineering (BSME)orMSwith 5 plus years ofexperience in design hardware or integrated product development and testingand excellent leadership/communication
- Prior or current experience with spaceflight imaging applications especially related to optical systems
- Proficiencyin various CAD tools and openness to using new software with the ability to create high-quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards.
- Experience in working with engineering teams from conceptual through detailed designphases
- Strong skills in materialselectionfinishingcomponentsizing system design and troubleshooting.
- Exceptionalanalytical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
- Experience with machiningand fabrication processes sheet metal injection molding and 3D printing.
- Abilityto produce detailed drawingsmeeting industry standards(e.g. ASME Y14.5 GD&T) and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to drive projects from concept to completion
- Excellent written and verbal skills for documentation presentations and collaboration.
- Eligible to obtain andmaintainan active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with complex optical system design analysis testing and implementation.
- Experience in design of space-based mechanical structures mechanisms and electronics packaging along with engineering drawing development.
- Proficiencyin tolerance stack-up analysis for mechanical designs as well as GD&T.
- Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (motors controllers sensors etc.).
- Experience with thermal management.
- Preference for Siemens NX & Teamcenter experience.
- Working knowledge of DFMA.
US Salary Range
$129000 - $171000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience education and/or training critical skills and/or business considerations.
