This is a role for an engineer whos hungry someone whos built enough to know what they dont yet know and is ready to close that gap fast.
At Evident youll work alongside some of the sharpest engineers in the risk management space on problems that actually matter with the latest technology. Youll ship real product develop instincts that take most engineers a decade to build and do it inside a team that treats AI-native development not as a buzzword but as a genuine competitive edge.

The role will be based in our office in Atlanta (hybrid work model with two days in the office and three days remote).
What Youll Work On
- AI-native development for real
- Use AI coding assistants LLM-powered workflows and automation as a core part of how you work every day and keep sharpening that edge as the tools evolve.
- Apply AI across the full development cycle: writing and refactoring code generating tests drafting specs accelerating debugging. The goal is always to do better work faster.
- This is one of the most exciting skillsets you can build right now and youll have both the mandate and the support to develop it deeply.
- Shipping product that matters
- Design build and deploy features across our Java and Python stack end-to-end ownership from implementation through deployment and observability.
- Work in a codebase where your contributions are visible and your impact is measurable.
- Solve problems at the intersection of identity trust and compliance a domain where the technical and real-world stakes are both high.
- Growing through the work
- Write well-tested production-grade code and learn what quality at scale actually looks like in practice.
- Participate in design discussions code reviews and architecture conversations not as a passive observer but as someone whose perspective is wanted.
- Pair with senior engineers who are invested in your growth and will push you to level up.
What Were Looking For
Must-Have
- 3 years of professional software engineering experience with real production exposure.
- Solid foundation in Java and/or Python you understand the language well enough to be honest about where your gaps are.
- Curiosity about and some hands-on experience with AI development tools (Copilot Cursor Claude or similar) even if youre still building the habit youre genuinely interested in going deeper.
- A growth mindset: you take feedback well ask good questions and dont need everything figured out before you start.
- Strong written and verbal English communication the team is distributed and async clarity matters.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to LLM-based features in production (prompt design retrieval evaluation fallbacks).
- Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS GCP or Azure) microservices or API design.
- Experience in startup or fast-moving product environments.
- Interest in identity privacy or compliance domains.
- Experience with Scala
