Key Responsibilities

1. Assist physiotherapists/ occupational therapists to prepare and carry out assessments/ treatments/ programs/ educational activities to patients.

2. Perform anthropometric assessment collect and compile assessment outcomes.

3. Provide assistance and observation during care process / examination procedure.

4. Input and retrieve patient clinical data into designated databases.

5. Assist in setting up and assembly of equipment and prepare patients for investigation and treatment.

6. Assist in preparation of audio-visual aids visual/written materials and software installation for patient education activities.

7. Teach and supervise patients in related skills (physiotherapy / occupational therapy) during therapeutic activities.

8. Provides technical assistance in the production of splints pressure garments and assistive devices for patients assigned by therapists.

9. Perform daily disinfection and maintenance of medical equipment.

10. Perform appointment booking attendance taking and statistical data processing.

11. Answer patients enquiries and arrange follow-up appointments.

12. Assist in inventory control and procurement process.

13. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements

1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; AND

2. Holding certificate of the Health Care Assistant Course / Care-related Support Worker Course accredited by Hospital Authority (HA)*; AND

4. Good command of English and Chinese written and spoken.

Preferable Attributes

1. Adequate PC skills in MS Office including Chinese Word processing Excel Access and PowerPoint.

2. Good communication and social skills.

3. Preferably with experience in running patient care related programs.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirement (3) if find suitable will be employed to undergo at least 6 months on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the examination / assessment after training.
