We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design development and commissioning of advanced industrial automation systems in our Albuquerque NM office. This is a leadership role responsible for delivering high-performance control solutions across multiple industries while directly partnering with customers and guiding engineering teams.
You will work hands-on with PLC DCS HMI and SCADA platforms to design program and implement full-cycle automation systemsfrom requirements gathering through commissioning and qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design and implementation of PLC SCADA HMI and DCS control systems
Develop system architecture control strategies and detailed engineering specifications
Program controllers using Ladder Logic Structured Text SFC and other PLC languages
Develop and support HMI/SCADA systems databases and historical data solutions
Integrate industrial networks and protocols (Ethernet/IP Profinet Modbus etc.)
Lead project execution including planning budgeting scheduling and reporting
Oversee projects up to $1M and ensure successful delivery and profitability
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on design standards and best practices
Interface directly with clients and support long-term customer relationships
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Controls Mechanical Chemical Engineering or Computer Science
10 years of Controls Engineering experience
Strong expertise in Rockwell Siemens and Modicon PLC platforms
Experience with SCADA/HMI systems such as Wonderware FactoryTalk GE iFIX/CIMPLICITY ICONICS
Knowledge of DCS systems (Emerson DeltaV or equivalent)
Strong programming skills in VBA (Power BI / APIs preferred)
Experience in industries such as Life Sciences Oil & Gas Semiconductor Food & Beverage Mining or Water/Wastewater
Experience designing electrical schematics control panels and 480VAC systems
Must be local to Albuquerque or have strong ties to the area
