Position Overview
Join a fast-paced manufacturing environment as a Supplier Quality Engineer II responsible for improving supplier quality performance across electrical mechanical fabrication and raw material commodities.
This role is highly visible and requires strong problem-solving supplier interaction and data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with Engineering Manufacturing and Supply Chain to resolve issues drive corrective actions and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead supplier quality initiatives including performance tracking audits and continuous improvement
Execute and manage PPAP APQP and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities
Drive Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) using 8D and structured problem-solving methodologies
Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal QMS requirements
Analyze supplier quality data identify trends and implement corrective/preventive actions
Act as a liaison between Engineering and Suppliers to resolve technical and specification issues
Manage supplier deviations rejections and corrective action processes
Support new supplier approvals and evaluations
Drive Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction and process optimization
Participate in supplier program reviews and product validation activities
Provide reporting on supplier KPIs quality metrics and performance trends
What Youll Be Doing Day-to-Day
Collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues on the floor
Investigating supplier-related defects and driving RCCA and containment actions
Reviewing data and reports to identify quality trends and deviations
Communicating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of issues
Updating and maintaining Quality Management System (QMS) documentation
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field
35 years of Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) experience
Strong experience with:
PPAP / APQP
RCCA / 8D problem solving
ISO 9001 / Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering Manufacturing and Supply Chain
Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting (Excel or similar tools)
Excellent communication and ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
ASQ Certification (CQE CRE or CSQP)
Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies
Familiarity with FMEA (DFMEA / PFMEA)
Experience with TeamCenter (PLM) and Syteline (ERP)
Background in welding processes or fabrication quality (a plus)
Experience with FAI CAPA and supplier audits
