Summary:
Rugby Borough Council is seeking a skilled and reliable Roofer/Bricklayer to join the Facilities and Environmental Services team. This role is essential for the maintenance and repair of the Councils residential property portfolio. You will be responsible for executing high-quality roofing and bricklaying repairs ensuring that all works are completed safely efficiently and to a high standard of workmanship. A company vehicle is provided for official duties.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out a variety of roofing repairs and maintenance on residential properties including tiling slating and addressing leaks or structural wear.
- Perform essential bricklaying duties such as repointing rebuilding small walls and repairing damaged brickwork on domestic dwellings.
- Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure all repairs meet the Councils standards for quality and durability.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations particularly when working at heights or using specialized equipment.
Qualifications:
- Formal qualifications are based on experience demonstrated at the interview stage.
Essentials:
- Proven experience specifically in roofing bricklaying or a combination of both trades.
- Previous experience working on residential/domestic properties ideally within a social housing or local government context.
- Practical knowledge of current health and safety regulations relevant to construction and repair work.
- A valid UK Driving Licence is required to operate the provided company vehicle.
