Overview
This posting is open exclusively to current AL DOC incumbent employees.
As the Chief Dental Officier you will oversee clinical operations quality of care and staff performance at various facility sites of the Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR).
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The Chief Dental Officier is responsible for overseeing the dental program and ensuring quality dental care is provided to protect the rights dignity and health of our unique patient population. Responsibilities may include and not be limited to:
- Developing and implementing dental services policies procedures and protocols
- Performing direct dental care services for the patients in residence
- Ensuring compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations including court mandates and standards
- Directs daily dental operations manages clinic workflows and ensures compliance with federal state and local regulations (e.g. OSHA HIPAA FQHC guidelines).
- Collaborating on with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients needs
- Training supervising and evaluating dental staff
- Overseeing dental program budget
Qualifications
Qualifications/Experience/Requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent
- 3 5 years experience in general practice residency with administrative experience is required with corrections experience preferred
- Valid dental license in the state where the facility is located
- Current DEA registration
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Display integrity professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies procedures and legal requirements
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
- Technical skills in providing a full range of dental services
- Knowledge of applicable laws regulations and industry standards
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Must pass the facilitys criminal background check and drug screening
