Job Description:

If you have an engineering mindset and a passion to deeply engage with Journey partners to fully understand and drive forward their goals the Manage Customer Accounts (MCA) Business Systems Analyst team is the place for you!

MCAs applications form the Book of Record for all aspects of personal and commercial business deposit and chequing accounts as well as registered deposit accounts and a Line of Credit product. This critical data is used by key banking systems at TD (e.g. Easyweb Mobile C3 S3) to deliver customer-centric information and services to technology and business partners.

The ideal candidate brings a grounded IT background; preferably in Mainframe Host exceptional communication skills to bridge Journey needs with technology solutions and thrives in a fast-paced ambiguous environment.

As a key role in the Pod Agile delivery team you will be actively involved in many Features to enhance and deliver new functionalities supporting Journey-sponsored and Infrastructure initiatives. You will translate complex requirements into clear JIRA user stories using Behavior-Driven Development methodology to ensure delivery outcomes meet customer and stakeholder expectations. You will work in close collaboration with Journey partners Product Owners Architects Software Engineers and Quality Engineers to drive clarity test and support deployment.

Primary Purpose of the Role

Translate business needs into technical concepts for technical teams and technical constraints into business language for stakeholders.
Plan manage and lead the delivery of system requirements in alignment with standards and frameworks. Provide technical leadership and work in close partnership with various partners and stakeholders to plan elicit analyze document communicate and manage functional and non-functional requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Leverage specialized domain product and systems knowledge to have a thorough understanding of the business product and vision; provide business-technology interaction subject matter expertise as well as recognize and drive the focus toward business value.
  • Identify document and validate current state technology capabilities/ecosystem and support stakeholders to design the desired future state; provide recommendations and/or direction based on the end-to-end customer experience when making decisions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine solutions assess impact to existing work processes and systems and how to manage the integration
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications taking into account non-functional requirements
  • Own and manage the traceability of system requirements through design and development testing and deployment; ensure the acceptance criteria demonstrates the changes to systems that will meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product performance user acceptance and operational acceptance testing
  • Provides support/oversight and guidance in the delivery of technology requirements with focus on quality reusability scalability and innovation.
  • Promote innovation by applying subject matter expertise to generate forward-thinking ideas as well as critical thinking to find opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide operational / process-related analysis and support to various extents
  • Adhere to existing processes/standards including requirements management technology delivery practices and standards and business technology architecture escalating issues as required
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technology trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services applications infrastructure analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of business domains and their products/services
  • May support change management planning and activities including those that ensure operational readiness.
  • Support implementation and post-implementation planning and activities.
  • May support the development of business cases including benefits identification RFI/RFP and service level agreements with vendors/suppliers consistent with technology requirements/guidelines
  • Adhere to the TD code of conduct
  • Participate fully as a member of the team support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business quality innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.

  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities including cross training within own team.
  • Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities.
  • Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices.
  • Lead motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.

  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank both internally and/or externally.

Experience and / or Education

Required

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • 68 years of experience as a BSA or similar hybrid Business Analyst/System Analyst role.
  • Advanced understanding of Mainframe Host capabilities limitations and best practices. Hands-on experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in writing detailed user stories with acceptance criteria in JIRA using Gherkin language and creating/maintaining documentation in Confluence.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proven ability to engage enable and lead stakeholders to agreement /consensus on requirements and related issues/questions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis for complex issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication facilitation presentation and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coach/guide team members within area of expertise.

Preferred

  • Experience in multi-org enterprise-level environments.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across technical and business teams.
  • Business Analyst Certification
