Caterpillars CISM division is hiring for Sr. Manager Category Procurement role in Peoria IL!
Role Summary: In this role you will manage strategic breakthrough categories to deliver year-over-year Quality Cost Logistics Development Management (QCLDM) performance improvement.
What Youll Do (Job Duties)
- Accountable for the development communication and implementation of a worldwide sourcing strategy for Structures Enclosures Work Tools Machined Bar BTS Castings and Forgings for the Earthmoving Division
- Identifying performance gaps within the supply base and developing improvement plans for the identified gaps.
- Collaborating with the Supply Network on risk mitigation and using predictive cost modeling both geographically and component-based.
- Identifying developing and managing a high-performing global supply network for one or more categories leveraging Procurement Classification Codes (PCC).
- Leadership in the Fabrication space to grow US Supply base manufacturing capabilities and cost competitiveness to support Earthmoving Product (MG MWL MTP Paving) goals and objectives.
What You Have (Core Skills)
- Degree requirement: Bachelors degree and/or 15 years job related experience
- Planning: Tactical Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term) tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Business Intelligence: Knowledge of business intelligence; ability to utilize business processes and technologies for gathering storing analyzing and providing access to data that helps the organization make better business decisions.
- Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge experience and skills into real practice.
- Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods technologies and processes; ability to analyze improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
- 15 years of experience in Procurement Supply Chain and/or Product leadership
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Steel or Fabrication Category experience.

- Work location: IL-Peoria-Building AB Office

- Travel: up to 35% domestic and international
- This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillars long-term incentive plan.
- This position requires 5 days per week in the office (M-F)
Summary Pay Range:
$172630.00 - $258950.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
