Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as the Northeastern Junior College Director of Information Technology. Responsibilities will include strategic leadership planning and oversight for all technology services infrastructure and systems across the college. This role ensures secure reliable and forwardlooking technology operations that support academic administrative and systemlevel initiatives. The Director collaborates with college leadership CCCS system partners and external stakeholders to deliver highquality IT services foster innovation and advance the institutions strategic vision. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Partner with the president executive leadership and senior staff to establish IT implementation teams and drive collegewide and systemwide initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strategic IT master plans aligned with institutional goals.
- Lead technology modernization efforts including cloud transformation digital workspace strategy and cybersecurity maturity planning.
Budgeting & Administration
- Develop monitor and manage departmental budgets technology lifecycle plans and project expenditures.
- Participate in hiring processes; oversee onboarding evaluations professional development and performance management of IT staff.
Team Leadership & Operations Management
- Supervise coach and evaluate the Assistant Director of IT Technical Systems Analyst Academic Technology Coordinator and Technical Support Specialist.
- Set work priorities establish operational standards and ensure timely completion of projects and support services.
- Adjust staffing and work schedules to meet service-level expectations and project demands.
Project Management
- Lead project teams through planning design implementation and evaluation phases.
- Define project scopes timelines responsibilities documentation standards risk mitigation and training plans.
- Monitor project progress ensuring deliverables are met on schedule and within budget.
Systems Infrastructure & Cloud Services
- Oversee daytoday operations of network server cloud and endpoint environments.
- Support hybrid identity infrastructure including Microsoft Entra ID Active Directory and modern authentication standards.
- Ensure efficient management of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure M365 Exchange Online Intune and Defender for Cloud/Endpoint.
- Maintain virtualized environments using VMware vSphere TouchNet ID Management and Access Control.
- Assess hardware and software requirements recommend technology procurements and oversee lifecycle replacement plans.
Network & Telecommunications
- Manage advanced wired and wireless networks including:
- WiFi 6E/7
- CAT6A/CAT7 structured cabling
- Cisco Catalyst & Meraki switching/security
- DNS DHCP TCP/IP routing VLAN segmentation
- VoIP unified communications and emergency communication systems.
- Ensure network scalability redundancy performance tuning and monitoring.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Develop implement and review policies in alignment with security frameworks (e.g. NIST CSF CIS Controls).
- Monitor identity and access management reviewing access logs and system reports for anomalies.
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (FERPA GLBA PCI ADA digital accessibility).
- Oversee vulnerability management incident response disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
User Support & Application Services
- Provide leadership for academic and administrative technology support.
- Ensure effective service management across help desk operations ticketing and knowledgebase systems.
- Oversee application deployment maintenance and integrations for institutional and CCCS system applications.
- Provide training and documentation for IT staff and end users.
Planning Documentation & Partnerships
- Maintain and direct comprehensive documentation of network systems procedures and dependencies with CCCS IT infrastructure.
- Develop grant proposals capital funding requests and technology project justifications.
- Collaborate with vendors contractors and consultants to develop solutions resolve issues and evaluate new technologies.
What You Will Need:
- Demonstrated experience supervising and developing IT professionals.
- Strong interpersonal negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse groups including faculty administrators technical teams and external agencies.
- Strong documentation and reportwriting skills.
- Financial acumen in project budgeting and cost analysis.
- Proven problemsolving troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
What We Require:
- Bachelors degree in information technology Computer Science Cybersecurity or related field; commitment to continued professional development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in:
- Enterprise networks (LAN/WAN WiFi 6E/7 Cisco Catalyst Cisco Meraki).
- Structured cabling standards (CAT6A/CAT7).
- Identity access and security management (Active Directory Entra ID Touchnet Information Systems OneCard).
- Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure M365 Intune Defender Exchange Online)
- Server virtualization and storage systems (VMware Cisco UCS HPE Nimble Azure services).
- Endpoint management (Intune Autopilot and UEM best practices)
- Help desk and IT service management (ITIL practices preferred)
