Accounting Administrator
Job Summary
Our client a well-established Canadian law firm with a long-standing presence in the Vancouver market is seeking an Accounting Administrator to join its Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive accounting professional with at least two years of relevant experience who thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment.
The Role
The Accounting Administrator supports the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department by performing a wide range of clerical and administrative accounting duties. This role involves processing financial transactions maintaining accurate records assisting with trust accounting and compliance and supporting ad hoc projects as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile trust accounts in accordance with applicable regulations and internal policies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Support employee expense reimbursements
- Organize and maintain accounting files and documentation
- Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with collections
- Assist with the preparation of internal financial reports
- Respond to internal inquiries related to financial transactions
- Participate in ad hoc projects and special assignments
- Perform other accounting or administrative duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting support or accounting administrator role
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage or ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with trust accounting (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in a law firm environment
Compensation & Benefits
