ID: Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Description: GNA Float - Nights- Every other weekend- Required to float to other units.**This facility will not pre-approve any holiday week RTO. They schedule every other holiday here but they cannot guarantee specific holidays off in the contract.**Required Certs: BLS AHA CPR GNA - MUST HAVE MD CNA LICENSEMinimum experience 1 year unit will accept first time travelersRequired experience in: vitals phlebotomy EKGs ADLs recording intake/output specimen collection assisting with ambulation hoyer lift wheelchairsParticipates and sets up invasive procedures such as PICC line insertions assisting the licensed professional staff as the procedure is performedHigh Intensity Care Unit (HICU) (Vent/Pulmonary Care/Acute Rehab): Comprised of 20 semiprivate rooms and can accommodate up to 40 patients. A team approach is taken to providecare for patients who may require attention for an acute brain injury need respiratoryassistance or special monitoring or require rehabilitation. Patients are monitored for cardiacconditions and serious complex staff members are outgoing and positive and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes. The unit accepts patients 18 years of age or older. Ratio: 1:5-7Brain Health Unit (BHU): Comprised of two 40-bed units. Staff members in the BHU are goodcommunicators and can set boundaries hold confidences and establish and maintain in the BHU are admitted with medical and psychological diagnoses. The length of theirstay is between 20-25 days which provides an opportunity for clinical staff to analyze a patient sbehavior and cultivate a relationship that may help a patient see him- or herself in a better their stay patients will receive help with medication management and rehabilitationservices if needed. Staff members will also assist in engaging patients in group activities andone-on-one exercises. Ratio: 1:10-12Household Units (HH) (LTC): Provides long-term care for patients. Households are comprisedof six units with 14 private bedrooms in each. Each HH has a central kitchen where a hostess cancook for the patients daily den with books and a large-screen television and a washer and dryerso that staff can wash residents clothing separately. HH 5-6 are for patients that may besuffering from dementia or reduced cognitive abilities; due to this staff members must badge-inand badge-out to prevent patients from exiting the units. Staff members must be able torecognize an individual s likes dislikes routines and needs and deliver care based on thatinformation. Ratio 1:14 (Day) 1:28 (Night)Hall 1 (Subacute Care): Comprised of a 42-bed long-term care unit that offers residents dailyactivities along with a wide range of services and support. Hall 1 is sub-acute rehabilitation withhigh complexity of needs. This unit is a fast paced and busy atmosphere where the patients needs include post operation post stroke post cardiac ambulatory rehab and a lot of woundcare and prevention. . Ratio: 1:10-15Hall 2 (LTC/Memory Care): Comprised of a 50-bed long-term care unit that offers residentsdaily activities along with a wide range of services and support. Hall 2 is a standard long-termcare unit where patients have different levels of acuity going from high functioning to bedridden. Diagnosis includes diabetes cardiac issues dementia behavior etc. . Ratio: 1:10-15Burk 1 (Pulmonary Care): Long-term care unit with 17 beds where residents permanentlyreside. Most of the residents on this unit are alert and oriented but require assistance with carefor chronic and acute illnesses. Additionally Burk 1 is home to chronic trach patients. The unithosts many types of beds to fit the physical needs of a variety of patients. Burk 1 Ration: 1:17-20Burk 2 (Ventilator): Comprised of 18-23 beds and acts as home for patients with chronic andcomplex respiratory problems and other patients that require long-term care. Many residentsof Burk 2 require ventilator support. Staff members must utilize strong organizational andleadership skills to assess patient status implement clinical nursing interventions to modifysymptoms and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve training on how to care for patients on vents and how to respond to different alarms onthe unit is required.
