About The Team
The emergency team consists of several veterinarians and nurses who work in a 24/7 hospital facility. Emergency and Critical Care specialists provide a trainee and residency program along with training and guidance opportunities for the emergency team members. The hospital also receives afterhours support from various specialist services to ensure optimal care and treatment plans for all animals.
Your New Role!
The key purpose of this role is to provide emergency veterinary services and ongoing care for companion animals (including exotics) in the Emergency and Critical Care section of The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University (TAHMU).
Your Key responsibilities will include
- Diagnose and make therapeutic treatment recommendations on small companion animals.
- Provide support and training to specialty trainees students visiting veterinarians and veterinary nurses in all aspects of emergency medicine and critical care.
- Provide advice to other TAHMU staff on emergency medicine and critical care related matters.

What We Offer You!
This casual role attracts a competitive casual rate of $73.09-$83.65 per hour inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 12% employer superannuation contributions.

Midweek 18:00 23:59 Hours Attracts 115% penalty on base hourly rate - $78.04 p/h - $88.60 p/h
Midweek 24:00 08:00 Hours Attracts 130% penalty on base hourly rate - $95.02 p/h - $108.75 p/h
Midweek O/night Shift Attracts 150% penalty on base hourly rate - $109.64 p/h -$125.48p/h
Saturday Hours attracts 150% penalty on base hourly rate - $109.64 p/h - $125.48 p/h
Sunday Hours Attracts 175% penalty on base hourly rate - $127.91 p/h - $146.39 p/h
Public Holiday Hours Attracts 250% penalty on base hourly rate - $182.73.15 p/h - 209.13 p/h

What youll bring to the role:
- Veterinary degree registrable by the Veterinary Practice Board of Western Australia.
- Relevant post graduate qualifications or training experience
- Ability to work rotational shift work including night shifts weekends and public holidays and be flexible in work hour patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
