Senior Data Engineer

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:â

As the Senior Data Engineer you will design build and optimizes scalable reliable data pipelines and platforms that enable analytics reporting and advanced data use cases. The role leads complex engineering efforts ensures high standards for data quality and reliability and partners closely with analytics platform and business teams to deliver trusted data products. This position plays a critical role in evolving the organizations data architecture and engineering best practices. Design and implement data models using different modelling standards and tools.

This is aâFull-timePermanentrole basedat our Head Office in Vancouver British Columbia and will report toDirector Data Platform.

Our head office is based in Vancouver but we are open to candidates in BC and Ontario.âWhile this position is for an existing vacancy and provides a hybrid work arrangement you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands when needed.

How Youll MakeâanâImpact:

• Designing developing and maintaining robust scalable data pipelines (batch and streaming)
• Leading implementing and optimizing ETL/ELT processes using modern data engineering frameworks.â
• Designing and implementing data model using different modelling standards
• Optimizing and troubleshooting data performance reliability and cost across storage and computing layers.
• Creating and managing knowledgebase access controls deployment pipeline architecture and infrastructure related to Data Platform.
• Acting as tech advisor and collaborating on analytics platform security and infrastructure teams both technical and non-technical audiences
• Documenting architecture pipelines and operational procedures
• Operating as a senior individual contributor with no formal people management responsibilities
• Ensuring data quality validation and observability across pipelines

WhatâYoullâBring toâthe Team:â

• Bachelors degree in computer scienceorrelatedtechnical discipline

• 5 years of industry experience in Data Engineering or related field handling data processing and transformation of disparate datasets

• Experience with big data and analytics programming languages such as Python R Spark in Databricks

• Experience with batch and real-time processing frameworks (EventHub Apache Spark Apache Kafka etc.)

• Willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities

• Proven ability to innovate and adapt to the latest development inareaof expertise

• Ability to adapt and grasp new skills and content

WhatYoullEarn:

This role offersa salary rangeof$113100 - $139650 per annum.The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications skillspreviousexperience and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program subject to program eligibility requirements.
