The Distinguished Engineer for Emerging Commercial Platforms - Reward and Pay serves as the primary technical architect and strategic partner in the Employee Experience organization. You will be responsible for the technical vision and system design of our global compensation product stack spanning Workday Base Comp. PeopleSoft Advanced Comp. and Sales/Associate Compensation systems.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you will translate Board-level compensation product functions into robust automated technical roadmaps. You will navigate the complexities of legacy system parity while pioneering the future of zero-bottleneck compensation cycles.
Product Strategy & Technical Vision
Partner with the HR Compensation teams to align technical architecture with business outcomes.
Translate complex global compensation events (Merit Bonus LTI) into scalable technical designs.
Provide architectural oversight for Emerging Platforms ensuring they meet long-term enterprise goals for flexibility and data integrity.
Enterprise Platform Integration (Workday & PeopleSoft)
Workday Ecosystem: Architect advanced automation solutions using Workday Extend and Studio to streamline comp events like merit cycles recognition incentive management and eliminate manual bottlenecks for thousands of global managers.
Legacy Excellence: Lead the strategy for PeopleSoft Advanced Compensation modules ensuring stability and high performance while managing the delicate coexistence/migration of legacy data.
Data Parity: Guarantee 100% data integrity and parity during the transition from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.
Compensation Engineering (Sales & Associate)
Design and optimize high-throughput engines for Sales Compensation and Associate Compensation.
Build automated frameworks that handle complex incentive structures ensuring accuracy in high-stakes financial environments.
Lead the shift toward human-out-of-the-loop processing through intelligent automation and proactive error handling.
Technical Leadership
Mentor senior engineering staff and drive a culture of architectural excellence.
Act as a consultant to HR and Finance leadership on the feasibility of new compensation models.
Evaluate emerging technologies to determine their potential impact on commercial platform efficiency.
Youll Need to have:
Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience or specialized training.
Demonstrated success in managing high-stakes migrations between ERP giants (e.g. PeopleSoft to Workday).
Experience supporting Board-level initiatives and translating executive philosophy into technical outcomes.
Even Better if you have:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Technology or related field.
Knowledge of Workday (Extend Studio Core HCM) and PeopleSoft (Advanced Comp North American Payroll).
Proven experience in system design for large-scale financial or HR platforms.
Expertise in automating complex business workflows to remove manual intervention.
Experience integrating with genAI and the Agentic AI is the plus.
Ability to speak the language of Business Outcomes rather than just Technical Inputs.
Experience in guiding Product Managers and Executives toward technically sound scalable decisions.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $137000.00 - $263000.00.Required Experience:
