| Job Description: | The University of Florida (UF) Department of Epidemiology is seeking several individuals to serve as Study Interviewers for the National Drug Early Warning System (NDEWS) project. Interviewers are expected to work at least three weekends between now and July 2027. A key component of this work is Rapid Street Reporting (RSR) which includes administering anonymous surveys at 17 sentinel sites and additional hotspot locations nationwide. This effort helps identify emerging substance use trends and monitor potential adverse effects in different regions of the country. This position involves conducting anonymous interviews in public spaces about substance use. Individuals approached may or may not be actively using addition to surveys anonymous saliva samples will be collected. Travel is required: interviewers depart Friday morning and return Sunday evening. NDEWS is seeking dependable detail-oriented individuals who are comfortable engaging with diverse who have experience with interviewing are strongly encouraged to apply. Duties include but are not limited to the following: - Approaching individuals in multiple cities at outdoor and indoor locations.
- Obtaining verbal consent for anonymous survey on use and knowledge of approximately 100 substances.
- Remaining available for questions during survey self-administration via electronic tablet.
- Participating in all training sessions.
