Raytheon has an opportunity for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Surveillance Sensor Radio Frequency (RF) Solutions Engineering Team in the Dallas TX area. We encourage curious creative problem solvers to join our team of bright dedicated software craftspeople in designing and implementing highly innovative systems. The Software organization develops the applications that drive missiles launchers radars naval systems fire control and other complex systems as well as the integration and test software. These applications integrate firmware operating systems device drivers networking and control software to bring together sensor guidance and flight control capabilities to complete the mission. The Software org is made up of several Centers located across the country responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle. What You Will Do

This position is for a Software Engineer who has professional experience in the development and implementation of software for real-time applications.

Deliverables include but not limited to:

• Architecting designing implementing testing and debugging integrated embedded real-time software within heterogenous systems composed of firmware and hardware.

• Working within a cross-discipline team to define refine and improve product concept implementation testability and guaranteed measurable quality.

• Teaching coaching and mentoring less experienced staff.

• Contributing to proposals as well as preliminary and critical design reviews.

• This position may require occasional business-related travel.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience in developing testing and integrating real-time software applications written in C or closely related software languages.

• Development experience on Linux VxWorks or other Real Time Operating Systems.

• Experience developing complex systems involving the integration of hardware firmware and software.

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• This job is onsite in Plano TX (TX217); applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance

• Windows OS VM/container and reverse engineering experience

• Experience with product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.

• Experience with DevSecOps pipeline implementation and use including Static Code Analysis Automated Build and Automated Test techniques using continuous integration/continuous delivery with Test-Driven Development approach.

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

  The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
