Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (Nursing Home) Opportunity:

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Mount View Care Center provides and coordinates skilled nursing care for residents in a skilled nursing facility ensuring safe effective and person-centered care in accordance with professional nursing standards state and federal regulations and organizational policies. This role functions as a charge nurse oversees unit-based nursing operations supervises ancillary nursing staff and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support resident health safety and quality of life.

What Youll Get:

  • The starting pay range for this role is $40.02 - $43.58 and $1.00 shift differential for all hours between 2:00pm and 6:00am based on education and experience.
  • This job is in-person. There are full-time and part-time roles available. Shift availability is 2:00pm - 10:00pm 6:00pm - 6:00am or 10:00pm - 6:00am.

  • As a full-time employee of NCHC you are eligible for the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is a hybrid defined benefit plan. What You Bring:

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Wisconsin
  • Current BLS certification
  • Will use electronic medical record systems and standard office software
  • Ability to safely lift transfer reposition and assist residents using appropriate equipment and established safe patient handling practices.
  • Requires the capacity to effectively receive and respond to resident communications including verbal cues alarms and visual indicators to maintain a safe care environment.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience in skilled nursing long-term care geriatric nursing memory care or ventilator care

What a Registered Nurse (Nursing Home) does at NCHC:

Essential Duties:

  • Provides skilled nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility in accordance with professional standards physician orders and organizational policies.
  • Conducts comprehensive and ongoing assessments of resident condition and responds appropriately to changes in health status.
  • Develops implements evaluates and updates individualized plans of care using the nursing process.
  • Administers medications IV therapies and treatments while monitoring effectiveness and adverse reactions.
  • Coordinates and performs laboratory collection diagnostic testing wound care and specialized nursing procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians nurse practitioners pharmacy and other healthcare providers regarding resident care needs.
  • Completes accurate timely and thorough clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Can function as a charge nurse and supervise delegate or provide work direction to nursing and support staff.
  • Provides coaching mentoring and performance feedback to personnel to support safe and effective care delivery.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support person-centered care discharge planning and care transitions.
  • Supports admission discharge and transfer processes including resident and family education.
  • Adheres to infection prevention safety and regulatory requirements including use of PPE and emergency response protocols.
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed to ensure comfort dignity and safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support resident care and facility operations.
