Job Summary

Position Summary

The primary function of the Warehouse & CDL Driver is to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with the company policies and Federal and State regulations while delivering all freight undamaged. The Warehouse & CDL Driver is also responsible for areas of warehouse maintenance shipping/receiving product storage and delivery setup.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain health and safety compliance in accordance with company policy. Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation. Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites. Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Must report all accidents involving driver or company equipment. Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading. Prepare orders by processing requests: pull accurate materials and place them in appropriate areas for customer pick up or delivery; load and unload trucks as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory controls through minimizing material damage and ensuring order accuracy.
  • Ability to organize the warehouse and manage bin locations. Establish maintain and promote high standards of customer service. Wear protective gear and steel-toed boots. Ensure that equipment is maintained to company operating standards.
  • Ability to operate a forklift. Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude


Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED. 1-3 years of experience or more is preferred.
  • Must have a valid commercial drivers license (CDL).
  • Minimum Class A or Class B CDL.
  • Must have a clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Must have overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations. Core Competencies: Strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity. Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
  • Must be able to frequently lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
  • Constantly moving from unloading materials from the commercial motor vehicle onto the job site.
  • Constantly operating a commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle.
  • Constantly positioning self to unload materials from flatbed or boom.
  • Must be able to judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom.
  • Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Constantly working in an outside environment while making deliveries.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including but not limited to the position being offered location education training and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs commissions car allowance or automobile and fuel program and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
