Senior Electrical Engineer Mission Critical

DLR Group has an opening for an Electrical Engineer with a focused skillset on data center projects.

Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer for Mission Critical Projects is responsible for the design coordination and implementation of electrical systems for high-performance technically complex facilities such as data centers laboratories clean rooms and critical infrastructure environments. This role involves collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative efficient electrical building systems and preparing detailed electrical engineering drawings and calculations.

The successful candidate will

• Collaborate with architects other engineers and clients as part of our integrated design process.
• Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
• Develop electrical designs from concept through completion of construction.
• Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts.
• Write and review specifications.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
• Review shop drawings RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct site visits when needed.
• Manage electrical project teams and/or interdisciplinary project teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in a MEP or integrated design firm working onElectrical projects designing power and lighting building systems on complex projects.
• 5 years of experience of design experience related to data centers.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer designing power and lighting building systems on complex projects.
• Working knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines.
• Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP) work flow.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.
• Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
