Job Summary

Sales Manager

  • Basic Salary
  • Office Based Portsmouth with flexibility
  • 20-30% International Travel

This is a commercial role with real ownership inside a leading aerospace business with a specialist focus in the market.

You will take responsibility for driving sales performance managing customer relationships and contributing to the commercial direction of a UK-based manufacturing operation supplying into the aerospace sector.

The Business

Our client is a UK-based aerospace manufacturing operation part of a wider international group.

They design and produce safety-critical products for both commercial and defence applications with a strong focus on quality engineering standards and customer delivery.

The business combines established manufacturing capability with a clear focus on growth and commercial development.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Driving sales growth through structured account management and new opportunity development
  • Managing customer relationships from initial contact through quotation negotiation and order completion
  • Preparing and submitting commercial quotations aligned with pricing strategy and margin expectations
  • Leading and supporting contract negotiations with customers
  • Working cross-functionally with Engineering Operations and Finance to deliver customer solutions
  • Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through consistent communication and follow-up
  • Contributing to wider commercial strategy including pricing approaches and market development
  • Maintaining accurate records and forecasts using internal systems

What You Bring

  • Experience in sales business development or account management within a technical or manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships and negotiate commercial agreements
  • Strong understanding of pricing margins and commercial risk
  • Confident communicator comfortable working across multiple departments
  • Organised and self-sufficient with the ability to manage your own workload

Experience within aerospace or a technical engineering sector is advantageous but not essential.
