Job Duties

Performs abdominal vascular small parts pelvic including endovaginal and obstetrical ultrasound studies.

Performs transthoracic echocardiograms.

Assists the physician with transesophageal echocardiograms.

Disinfects intra cavity probes; obtains patient clinical information from the patient physician chart and gives verbal and written preliminary reports of sonogram results to physician.

Maintains records of all procedures performed.

Assists the physician with localizations for invasive procedures under ultrasound guidance.

Schedules patients for echocardiograms transesophageal echocardiograms and ultrasound procedures.

Instructs and provides clinical supervision to Ultrasonography students.

Assessment treatment and patient care responsibilities are delivered with a knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards.

Customer Service; respect flexibility knowledge confidentiality professionalism pleasant attitude patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely professional caring and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations.

Understands and adheres to the Medical Centers Code of Conduct.

Familiar with the Medical Centers Mission Vision and Values Statements.

Other Duties
Functions independently with regard to individualizing each exam relative to clinical
history.
Keeps current regarding developments in trends and techniques of diagnostic sonography by reading technical journals participating in service education programs attending conferences etc.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Provides patient comfort (e.g. bedpans blankets) as required.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.


Position Qualifications
2 years of previous hospital experience as an ultrasound technologist required.
Good oral communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Speaks reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
Heartsaver/CPR Certification required.

Education
Graduation from an approved formal training program in ultra-sound technology and registry eligible required;
RDMS and BS in ultrasound technology preferred.

Contact with staff patients.
Frequent prolonged standing.
Lifts positions pushes and/or transfers patients.
Lifts supplies/equipment
Protective clothing worn: gloves gown.

Salary commensurate with experience within posted range

BASED ON EXP $43.00 TO $47.50 PER HOUR. PLUS DIFFERENTIALS EVENING & NIGHT $2.65 PER HOUR & WEEKEND 2.00 PER HOUR
