A Brief OverviewThe Director Contract Lifecycle Management is responsible for leading enterprise contract management processes governance and compliance across Avera. This role owns the end-to-end contracting process for non-procurement agreementsincluding intake drafting review negotiation finalization and ongoing lifecycle managementand establishes enterprise standards for contract structure risk management and regulatory compliance. Operational stakeholders retain ownership of business decisions scope and performance expectations while this role ensures contracts are structured and finalized in alignment with enterprise standards.
What you will do
- Own enterprise contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes including intake workflow design approvals tracking and governance across all contract types.
- Lead and facilitate end-to-end contracting for non-procurement agreements partnering with operational stakeholders to structure compliant risk-aligned contracts that meet organizational objectives.
- Own contract data governance and repository integrity within the CLM system ensuring accuracy completeness and audit readiness of contract records and metadata.
- Provide governance and risk oversight for procurement contracts by defining escalation criteria and advising on non-standard high-risk or complex agreements.
- Establish and enforce enterprise contract risk frameworks including liability indemnification insurance performance terms and financial and operational risk considerations.
- Ensure contract compliance with applicable healthcare regulations by partnering with Legal to incorporate requirements such as Stark Law Anti-Kickback Statute and HIPAA into contracting practices.
- Integrate cybersecurity and data protection requirements into contract standards by collaborating with IT and security teams to address third-party risk and data privacy.
- Oversee enterprise contract templates clause libraries and standard language to ensure consistency compliance and alignment with legal and operational requirements.
- Lead CLM system implementation and optimization efforts including performance monitoring audit readiness and continuous improvement to enhance cycle time workflow efficiency and transparency.
- Serve as the enterprise contracting subject matter expert and strategic partner by collaborating with cross-functional leaders to align contract practices with organizational priorities.
- Responsibilities include interviewing hiring developing training and retaining employees; planning assigning and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Bachelors in Business Administration Healthcare Administration Legal Studies or related field and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
- 4-6 years Experience in contract management legal operations compliance or related field within a healthcare or regulated environment
- Experience with CLM systems and process design.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders..
