GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems for mining industrial projects. This role plays a key part in developing safe practical and highquality engineering solutions while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across disciplines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Health & Safety

• Work in compliance with all Cementation Health and Safety rules and regulations
• Identify health and safety hazards or infractions and report them to the Health and Safety Department.
• Ensure all applicable safety codes and regulations are met through appropriate design and use of technology.
• Act as a safety champion by promoting safe behaviours and integrating safety into all designs produced by the group

General Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver mechanical designs for mining construction projects from concept through construction
• Develop engineering solutions that meet regulatory requirements safety standards and client operational needs
• Perform and review engineering calculations equipment selection and system layouts
• Conduct and participate in technical and drawing design reviews
• Provide technical direction mentorship and review of work completed by EngineersinTraining
• Support project execution through procurement vendor evaluation fabrication and construction phases
• Work closely with project management operations and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical constructible and costeffective engineering solutions
• Supported proposal preparation and technical scope development

Travel Requirements

• This position has the requirement for occasional travel to our project sites and offices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer (.) in Canada
• 6 years of mechanical engineering experience in mining heavy industrial or similar environments
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems with experience in one or more of the following areas: material handling HVAC ventilation piping pumping pneumatics hydraulics rigging and hoisting
• Proven ability to lead technical work and mentor junior engineers

Skills Knowledge & Abilities

• Experience across multiple stages of the project and engineering lifecycle including studies prefeasibility and feasibility basic engineering issuedforconstruction (IFC) procurement fabrication installation and commissioning
• Exposure to site work construction support and field engineering activities
• Experience using 3D mechanical design and engineering analysis software
