Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Phase Services (CPS) Site Supervisor to support the CPS Lead for the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (PTUS) project and for the Rolling Stock Systems Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM). The Site Supervisor will play a key role in observing documenting and verifying that construction activities are performed in accordance with the Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings specifications and design intent.

This position is ideal for a technically minded professional with strong field inspection / observation experience on complex infrastructure projects particularly in stations OMSF underground works or transit stations.

Role accountabilities:

In this role you will support the CPS Lead by conducting thorough site observations of construction works specifically related to the PTUS or RSSOM scope. You will monitor construction activities closely to ensure they comply with Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings technical specifications and all applicable industry standards. Your attention to detail will be critical in recording and documenting all hold points witness points and observations as outlined in the Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) following the CPS procedures meticulously.

You will maintain accurate and detailed site surveillance reports including photographic evidence and comprehensive site observations. To aid the CPS team in tracking construction progress and outstanding actions you will develop and maintain inspection site surveillance and progress trackers. Effective communication is key in this role as you will regularly relay field observations non-conformances and any potential design-related issues to the Engineer of Record (EOR) and the broader project team.

Coordination with the contractors representatives will be a vital part of your responsibilities. You will facilitate site surveillance activities help resolve queries promptly and support design clarifications through managing Requests for Information (RFIs) Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Field Change Requests. Additionally you will actively participate in regular site coordination and progress meetings providing valuable input on design-related construction matters to ensure alignment across all parties.

In this role you will also support the design team by reviewing shop drawings material submittals and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to verify their consistency with site conditions. Throughout all site activities you will promote Arcadis strong commitment to safety quality and environmental stewardship ensuring that these principles are embedded in every aspect of construction monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Mechanical Electrical or Construction Engineering Technology.
  • 57 years of relevant inspection / observation or field engineering experience on heavy civil infrastructure projects (e.g. transit OMSF tunnels stations tracks or bridges).
  • PEO registration would be an asset but not a requirement.
  • Working knowledge of CSA OPSS OBC AREMA and relevant municipal/provincial city and building standards.
  • Familiarity with design review and Construction Phase Services (CPS) processes in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of reinforced concrete structures Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing (MEP) Tracks Excavation support systems Structures Utilities etc.
  • Excellent documentation reporting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced large-scale project environment.
  • Requires strong ability to multi-task under pressure and time constraints to meet various deadlines while maintaining keen attention to detail.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to utilize computer software such as MS Word Excel including experience with tracking software.
  • G License is required.

The salary range for this position is $89000 - $120000. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as location skills experience and qualification for the role.
