We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer Backend to design and scale the APIs and systems that power Foleys partner ecosystem. You will build reliable secure and scalable integrations while helping evolve our platform infrastructure and engineering practices.

What youll do

API & System Design

• Design and build scalable APIs and integration workflows that power partner-facing products

• Develop secure reliable distributed systems with a focus on performance and resilience

Platform & Infrastructure

• Contribute to our MuleSoft-based API platform and cloud infrastructure (AWS Kubernetes Docker)

• Improve system scalability observability and fault tolerance across services

Engineering Excellence

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows to increase speed and reliability

• Write clean testable code and contribute to best practices in system design and architecture

Collaboration & Impact

• Partner with product engineering and external teams to deliver high-impact integrations

• Support partner onboarding through stable well-documented APIs and developer-friendly experiences

Who you are

• Experience building APIs and distributed systems with strong understanding of integration patterns

• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as C# JavaScript TypeScript Java Python or similar with the ability to choose the right tool for the problem

• Strong system design fundamentals including building scalable fault-tolerant systems that can handle large volumes of data efficiently

• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure)

• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes or similar)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines Git workflows and automated testing

• Experience using AI-assisted development techniques to improve code quality and productivity (e.g. agentic workflows multi-agent systems spec-driven development or similar approaches)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with microservices architecture

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog Prometheus)

• Experience building or supporting external-facing APIs or SaaS platforms

Location: This role is primarily remote (U.S.-based) with the expectation of occasional visits to our offices for team collaboration training or company events.
