- Maintain accurate acceptance and rejection records and certification systems.
- Inspect and/or calibrate parts tools instruments or x-ray film to determine acceptance or rejection.
- Identify defective conditions and test failures; prepare all appropriate documentation and calibration history.
- Perform complex inspections using a wide variety of measuring instruments.
- Read complex blueprints including geometric tolerances and dimensions.
- Adapt and develop inspection setups for sample parts forgings and castings.
- Check tool and jig layouts and perform first article envelope and source inspections.
- Interpret specifications charts manuals and other data to determine part acceptability.
- Apply advanced mathematics to convert blueprint dimensions and tolerances.
- Work within guidelines of drawings schematics route sheets quality directives technical engineering specifications customer requirements and military standards.
- Ensure assembled product quality in terms of cosmetics dimensional requirements and identification.
- Layout and measure hole locations and centerlines on castings forgings and machined parts.
- Investigate causes of customer return failures and assist in inspections within assembly test and shipping departments.
- Support customer/government source inspectors as needed.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and properly segregate non-conforming materials.
- Provide technical support and training on measurement techniques.
- Participate in department problem solving lean events and high-performance teams.
- Maintain 5S standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as required to support the team.
