Job Summary
The Senior GL Accountant is responsible for licensing sales tax compliance GL entries reconciliations and projects. Will provide support with fixed assets unclaimed property property tax and sales tax. Great customer service and communication skills with internal employees and outside entities are extremely important. This is a heavy deadline driven position that requires attention to detail and time management.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Interact with Business and Electrical Contractor Licenses: Prepare File and Pay Licenses Registrations and other business filings. (New and Renewals)
Fixed Assets: Maintain capex worksheet and summary. Do annual fixed asset review. Fill out capex forms as needed.
Unclaimed Property: Assist in collecting data for unclaimed property. File unclaimed property yearly.
Cash Reconciliation:Daily cash reconciliation and communication to management Monthly cash reconciliation.
Lease Tracking Maintain lease records Post monthly lease entries (ASC 842)
Prepaid Expense:Maintain and reconcile Prepaid Expense account
Other Duties and Projects
A. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
B. Suggest and implement any new process improvements.
C. Document and update training materials.
D. Provide support to Assistant Controller.
E. Assigned journal entries and reconciliations.
F. Cross train- back up to GL Accountant for Tax.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPAeligible preferred)
47 years of progressive general ledger or corporate accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and monthend close processes
Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite Oracle SAP Workday or similar)
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problemsolving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
