Job Summary:

Reporting to the Program Coordinator the French Quarter Clean Team Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of the team. This unique program brings our team members into the community to help beautify the French Quarter area of the city.

What youll be doing:

  • Supervising and supporting a team responsible for cleaning sidewalks and common areas within the French Quarter.
  • Overseeing daily cleanup activities including picking up garbage and disposing of waste appropriately to ensure clean and safe public spaces.
  • Training guiding and supervising team members to ensure work is completed safely efficiently and to required standards.
  • Ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times including proper handling of materials and awareness of surroundings.
  • Identifying and reporting hazards to the City of Edmonton 311 call center (e.g. needles overflowing garbage cans etc.).
  • Safely transporting team members to cleanup locations once a week using a company vehicle.
  • Engaging with local businesses to offer free window washing services to build and maintain positive community relationships.
  • Working outdoors for extended periods including significant walking and physical activity.
  • Preparing for and working in varying weather conditions and ensuring appropriate attire and readiness.
  • Supporting and engaging respectfully with team members to fostering an inclusive supportive work environment.

Requirements:

  • A valid Class 5 non-GDL drivers license and be able to provide a clean drivers abstract.
  • Must pass a criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 12 Kilograms (25 Pounds) and perform physical work including walking on a continual basis.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum one (1) years related supervisory experience supervising personnel and directing work flow.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is an asset.
  • Related post-secondary education this includes but is not limited to social work business administration education trades. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
  • Courteous and able to work in a culturally diverse working environment.
  • Friendly with a professional appearance and demeanour.
  • Able to comfortably communicate with team members and members of the public about Goodwill and its mission.
  • Sound decision-making skills with good business sense and demonstrated initiative.
  • Effective time management skills as well as strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead model and deliver service excellence.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of automated time card entry an asset.
  • Able to influence empower and motivate others and hold team members accountable for the completion of assigned tasks.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Working Conditions:

  • Working with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mission Program Supervisors are required to stand and walk for long periods of time lift and carry heavy objects frequently.
  • Working outdoors in all conditions (e.g. heat rain etc.)
