As our Cashier you will perform cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas including any coffee carts or areas. You will provide accurate cash collection and high quality customer service to all customers. You will be maintaining all assigned stations keeping them clean well-stocked and attractive at all experience a plus!
Hours for this opportunity are fulltime 40 hours per week; shifts are 8 hours and generally run between the hours of 3pm to 11:30pm and does include weekends/holidays. Training first 2 weeks would be 11:30am-8pm. Plus you will enjoy an additional $1/hour flat rate weekend shift differential and an additional 18% night shift differential for hours past 9pm if applicable.

Banner - University Medical Center South is a comprehensive academic medical center that includes an Emergency department a state-designated trauma center and a Behavioral Health Pavilion. We are an Arizona Department of Health Services-accredited Cardiac Receiving Center and a Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders-designated senior-friendly hospital. The hospital is staffed by physicians who are full-time faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and is managed by Banner Health under an operating agreement with Pima County. Our specialty services include inpatient and outpatient behavioral health treatment and education for diabetes innovative geriatrics care and comprehensive orthopedics.POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to provide accurate revenue collection and to assist in providing high quality customer service to customers.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Accurately records all sales in the Point of Sale System; transacts payments with customers.
2. Stores counts deposits and maintains register cash and receivables in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
3. Maintains all assigned stations keeping them clean well-stocked and attractive at all times.
4. Provides service to customers meeting standards and guidelines. Responds to customer complaints and assists with problem resolution.
5. May perform cleaning stocking sign maintenance and other duties as assigned.
6. This position is in contact with patients other food service department personnel hospital staff visitors and families. This position must have excellent customer service skills and be able to resolve customer issues at the point of contact.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires effective interpersonal communication skills a friendly customer service attitude and the ability to accurately calculate and count change rapidly and repetitively. Good reading writing and math skills. Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required.
Requires the ability to learn Point of Sale cash register system beverage brewing and/or dispensing equipment and cleaning equipment.
For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members the food handlers card is required within 30 days of hire. For BSS team members in Tucson and Colorado the food handlers card is not required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
