As a Global Supply Manager at Impulse Space you will drive strategic sourcing vendor management excellence and end-to-end critical component management. You will work cross-functionally with engineering manufacturing quality finance and operations teams to ensure resilient cost-optimized supply chains that enable scalable growth and market success.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a robust and high-performing supply base by rigorously evaluating and selecting suppliers based on capability quality delivery reliability and cost competitiveness.
- Drive engineering to make sound manufacturable design decisions aligned to clear drawing callouts and specifications promoting standardization and critical inspection requirements to enable a scalable high-performing supply plan.
- Lead end-to-end supplier management assessing operations and technical and business capabilities to enable rapid development and production. Direct high-impact sourcing and qualification of new components or alternate materials and suppliers with engineering and quality teams.
- Manage the supply base by authoring and collaborating with Quality to release and maintain supplier quality and process documentation ensuring standardized controls and compliance across the supplier network.
- Develop supplier scorecard to measure supplier performance against agreed-upon key performance indicators and report findings to leadership.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders understanding their needs and consulting with them to build quality procurement strategies aligned to business requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering and quality organizations to determine cause of rejected material and to drive appropriate changes to ensure elimination/reduction of those quality issues.
- Administer moderate to large contracts and independently negotiate with suppliers contract terminology pricing technical requirements scope and terms involving responsibility liability indemnification intellectual property and export compliance.
- Perform in-depth supplier assessments to develop and execute a strategic sourcing strategy that identifies qualified suppliers optimizes cost models and proactively safeguards supply continuity in alignment with macroeconomic and industry trends.
- Execute purchasing transactions within scope area by issuing purchase orders and managing open orders with materials requirement planning (MRP) to ensure accurate and complete information at all times.
- Advise and collaborate with buyers and planners on procurement strategies while collaborating with planning teams to provide accurate forecasts mitigate capacity risks and ensure operational and tactical execution success.
- Keep up with industry and commodity market trends while developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with major component distributors and manufacturers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 7 years of experience in supply chain production or engineering; or advanced degree with 6 years of experience; or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree with demonstrated leadership in global supply management.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Understanding of lamination soldering/interconnects module assembly and frame fabrication processes and experience with test yields and early design impacts to production deployment.
- Deep expertise in sourcing and qualifying in PCB fabrication and PCBA assembly partners for high-reliability applications.
- Proven experience sourcing qualifying and managing EEE (Electrical Electronic and Electromechanical) components for avionics or high-reliability aerospace applications including supplier evaluation compliance with aerospace standards and lifecycle management.
- Ability to leverage technical knowledge of material specifications manufacturing processes and reliability testing to inform sourcing decisions and supplier development initiatives.
- Experienced in sourcing from a global supply base and managing sourcing phases from market research supplier evaluation and selection negotiations and supplier onboarding.
- Proven success working on cross-functional new product introduction projects completing cost models benchmarking and negotiations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions.
- Exceptional written verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve technical operational and organizational problems.
- Detail-oriented self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
