Job Description Summary
The Regional Customer Application Engineer (RCAE) is the primary technical interface with New Unit Customers mainly in North America during the pre-ITO (pre-Inquiry-To-Order) phase (i.e. prior to a firm proposal). She/He is responsible at the individual opportunity level for influencing and positioning GE Vernova with Customers and for defining the best technical configuration and strategy for firm proposals. Further the RCAE is expected to interface as required at varying levels with ITO & OTR (Order-to-Remittance) as well as within the regional pre-ITO team to assure the GE Vernova solution remains aligned to Customer expectations. Similarly Given the technical/commercial hybrid nature of the role the RCAE position provides those with a strong background in gas turbine or thermal power generation an opportunity to grow in the project development and commercial spaces; likewise those with a strong commercial and project development background will have an opportunity to increase depth in gas turbine and combined cycle technology.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Own pre-ITO technical deliverables within a framework of assigned opportunities which may come from a variety of account managers directly or be delegated from within the regional AE team. Complexity of deliverables owned then opportunities owned should increase over time with the intent of the individual demonstrating progression to a level of proficiency required to align to assigned account managers. Similarly intent should be progressing from task level ownership within opportunities to owning simple opportunities in entirety.
- Gather information from Customers and other sources about each opportunity and the Customers development plan strategy and evaluation method.
- Inform Customers about GE Vernova technology and solutions through in-person and online presentations including strategic discussions on product standardization and quality improvements.
- Use thermodynamic modeling software to model Simple Cycle (SC) Combined Cycle (CC) and Combined Heat & Power (CHP) plants.
- Apply basic understanding of Customer drivers business drivers how the regional pre-ITO function fits within broader organization etc to determine when to consult within team vs work cross-functionally to conduct an appropriate level of configuration optimization.
- Conduct economic life-cycle evaluation analysis of GE Vernova and competitor solutions for projects prior to formal Request For Proposal (RFP).
- Work closely with New Unit Sales broader Application Engineering and Product Line Management as well as consult more experienced Regional Customer Application Engineering team members to ensure optimum GE Vernova competitiveness.
- Proactively assess product fit and define an influencing strategy to best position GE Vernova prior to firm bid. Products include Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Steam Turbine Generator and Heat Recovery Steam Generator.
- Work closely with New Unit Sales to establish a pre-ITO level of technical information flow to develop gas power projects.
- Respond to Customer requests for technical information prior to RFP including providing transmission interconnect data and emissions data for permitting.
- Define and communicate to the ITO proposal team the project. background optimum configuration necessary approvals obtained and bid strategy.
- Gather competitive data and support post win and post mortem analyses.
- Analyze and report back to the business regional Customer needs and trends.
- Provide Customer feedback to internal functions (i.e. Solution Architect Value Engineering) regarding the preferred configuration designs and strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in relevant Engineering discipline with 2 years of engineering experience.

Desired Characteristics
- Edison Engineer; Completion of LPX ENGAGE Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or ACE Certificate.
- Good English written and verbal communication skills one-on-one and with large audiences.
- At least 2 years of experience in thermal power generation.
- Basic knowledge of GE Vernova Gas Power products and technology (Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine and/or aeroderivatives Steam Turbine CC CHP) processes and organizational structure.
- Expertise in Smartsheet workspace development and daily management applications.
- External focus with ability to assess impact of price and performance decisions on Customers market & investors. Interpersonal skills capable of developing strong Customer relationships.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
