System Integration & Workflow Engineer (AI)

We currently have a vacancy for a System Integration & Workflow Engineer (AI) fluent in English to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Ispra Italy. The work will be carried out either in the companys premises or on site at customer the context of the first assignment the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team on site.

Tasks:

• Design and development of multi-tier Python-based agentic workflows and web applications;
• Build a REST API with FastAPI to expose the agents functionality;
• Design plan implement integration strategies and patterns in a JEE/HTTP secured ecosystem;
• Apply best practices of distributed architecture to solve complex integration problems between information systems;
• Design implement and document APIs to be exposed in a secured manner on a public facing API Gateway;
• Design implement and document business events to be easily produced on a corporate event-streaming platform;
• Design plan implement and deploy workflows: business process definition and task definition (service or user tasks) relying on APIs and business events;
• Work in a container based infrastructure;

• University degree in IT or relevant discipline combined with minimum 11 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Experience with design and development of multi-tier Python-based agentic workflows and web applications;
• Experience with development of agents either using frameworks (openai-agents google adk haystack etc) or by writing custom code;
• Experience with development of MCP servers;
• Experience with cloud computing and DevOps (preferably with GitLab Openshift and Helm);
• Knowledge of development of REST APIs (preferably in fast-api);
• Kowledge of RAG workflows (langchain/flowise/...) and vector databases (Qdrant/Elasticsearch/etc.)
• Experience data modelling and physical database design will be an advantage;
• Knowledge of additional programming languages in particular TypeScript/JavaScript will be an advantage;
• Excellent command of the English language.
