Role Summary
The Electrical Technologist at McArthur River will support the Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineering Lead in the execution of major and sustaining capital projects. This role involves design drafting technical support and field involvement across surface and underground electrical systems in industrial and mining environments.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Culture
Demonstrate a strong personal safety culture and task risk assessment skills.
Support and comply with all safety programs processes and procedures.
Actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment in office and field settings
Engineering & Technical Support
Support the Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineering Lead on major and sustaining capital projects.
Develop review and support Scopes of Work (SOW) for electrical installations upgrades and troubleshooting.
Participate in the design drafting and detailing of:
o Low Medium and High Voltage electrical systems
o Power distribution and motor control systems
o PLC systems and industrial communication networks
Support projects including
o Underground electrical expansion and outfitting
o Generator upgrades and power system troubleshooting
o Plant expansions and infrastructure upgrades
Prepare update and maintain engineering drawings calculations and technical deliverables.
Produce and revise electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
Assist with procurement activities including:
o Technical bid evaluations
o Shop drawing and vendor document reviews
o Engineering calculations and technical clarifications
Provide technical troubleshooting support during construction commissioning and operational phases.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders contractors and vendors.
Occasional travel to project sites in Northern Saskatchewan and Ontario may be required
Work effectively across multiple priorities and changing project demands.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department.
Required Qualifications
Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree or Journeyperson Electrical certificate with applicable experience
Intermediate (49 years)
Experience developing Scopes of Work for electrical projects in industrial mining or heavy infrastructure environments.
Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating and revising electrical drawings.
Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
Preferred / Asset Qualifications
Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments particularly underground operations.
Field experience supporting construction commissioning or maintenance activities.
Experience with PLC programming instrumentation and industrial networking.
Previous work at remote or safety sensitive industrial sites.

Training /Qualification Activities
To be assigned and completed in ISN prior to attending to a Cameco safety-sensitive site (Northern SK sites)
o Location Specific Site Orientation
o Surface Pre Access OR Underground Pre Access (this includes completion of a substance test)
