We are hiring a Scientist On-Market IVD responsible for planning leading and executing feasibility and validation studies in support of product and process improvements of Hologic products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a sub-project within the overall project goals. Understands the sub-project goals within the context of the overall project.
  • Apply basic understanding of Product Development Process (PDP) and Verification and Validation (V&V)
  • Independently designs and performs complex experiments analyzes data documents experimental results in a lab notebook and prepares reports for the sub-project in support of the overall project
  • Troubleshoots experiments proposes next steps or suggests alternate strategies.
  • Designs and executes experiments to improve assay or instrument robustness and assess stability of reagents and specimens
  • Assists in design of statistically sound study plans for qualification and validation experiments execute them and draft study reports
  • Maintains inventory of specimens and reagents
  • Communicates clearly with team cross-functional colleagues and supervisors through oral updates written study plans/protocols reports and SOPs and during technical meetings
  • Leads a team of Research Associates.
  • May represent R&D on a Core Team.

Required Education:

  • B.A. /B.S. Molecular Biology Chemistry Biochemistry or related field.
  • M.S. Molecular Biology Chemistry Biochemistry or related field.
  • Ph.D. Molecular Biology Chemistry Biochemistry or related field.

Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years post-baccalaureate laboratory experience. Industrial experience preferred.
  • 4-6 years laboratory experience post-M.S. without thesis. Industrial experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years laboratory experience post M.S. with thesis. Industrial experience preferred.
  • Ph.D. without post-doctoral experience.

Required Skills:

  • Technical skills:Good theoretical understanding of scientific principles of nucleic acid chemistry and formulation optimization for nucleic acid based multiplexed diagnostic tests. Attention to detail analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective laboratory experimental organizational and communications skills required to plan and execute a subsection of a project. Maintain a constant focus on safety when working with hazardous chemicals and pathogens in the laboratory. Knowledge of quantitative tests FDA Design Control guidance ISO standards cGMP and other applicable regulations governing assay development is desirable.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $81900 to $128200 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience skillset knowledge geography education business needs and market demand.
