Service Advisor

Goodhue Boat Company is growing and we are looking for smart motivated and dedicated people to join the team! Our Eastlake marina has an immediate opening forFull-Time Marine Service Advisor.

Our service department specializes in the maintenance repair and detailing of most makes and models of boats. As a Marine Service Advisor for our company you will ensure that customers receive prompt courteous and effective service.

Job Summary:

Marine Service Advisors will report to the Service Manager and assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Service department and ensuring our customers receive prompt courteous and effective this position you will be part of a team that specializes in the maintenance repair and detailing of most makes and models of boats.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Communicate with customers in a professional manner to gather all the information necessary to create an accurate estimate.
• Consult and sell services that are applicable to the type of boat and customers needs.
• Provide customers with a schedule of work updates and any changes that may occur.
• Coordinate with customers on transportation of their boat.
• Communicate with technicians to inform customers of the best remedies to properly repair their vessel.
• Locate order and input parts for customer units based on technicians notes and diagnosis.
• Finalize and invoice work orders.
• Ensure each customer has a positive service experience.
• Spend quality time building a relationship with the customer.
• Follow up after work is complete.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years marine service writer experience preferred
• Excellent customer service and phone skills are a must.
• Must have superior selling skills and knowledge of how to cross-sell products and services.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem solving skills.
• Marine parts and services knowledge is a preferred.
• Experience withLightspeed EVO preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Qualifications:

• Valid drivers license
• Valid boaters license (can be acquired before start date)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions.

Education:

• Minimum of High School degree or equivalent.

Salary:

• $18-$22 per hour. Base Commission based on experience.
