What youll be doing

The Associate - U.S. Treasury Cash Management position is responsible for projecting cash balances for assigned retail and Nostro accounts ensuring daily closing balances remain within prescribed limits. Maintains optimal levels to minimize overdraft interest and compensation costs proactively resolving issues in collaboration with supervisors and stakeholders. Produces management reports to identify trends problems and assess process effectiveness. Supports ongoing cash management projects as assigned.

How youll succeed

  • Manage all Nostro clearing accounts ensuring daily closing balances remain within required limits and overdraft costs are minimized while maximizing revenue.

  • Calculate and accrue interest income and expenses; ensure clearing banks charge or pay anticipated amounts promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies to safeguard revenue.

  • Project daily closing positions of all accounts compare projections to actuals analyze variances and recommend process improvements.

  • Provide backup support within the Cash Management unit as needed.

  • Participate in banks disaster recovery and contingency funding plan testing to ensure business continuity.

  • Coordinate with operation support units to gather cash flow information resolve settlement issues and rectify account discrepancies.

  • Identify analyze and streamline business processes to improve efficiency and implement automation solutions that reduce manual effort and enhance operational performance.

Who you are

  • You have a Bachelors degree.

  • You possess at least 3 years of relevant experience.

  • You articulate strong analytical and investigative skills; detail-oriented.

  • You have the ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • You show effective oral and written communication skills.

  • You portray strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

  • You are familiar with back office operations industry mechanics and process automation tools.

  • You understand basic accounting principles and transaction processing.

  • You have knowledge of US and foreign settlement procedures.

At CIBC we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $94400 - $115000K for the New York NY market based on experience qualifications and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
