The Regional Director of Nursing (RDN) is responsible for clinical leadership operational collaboration and regulatory guidance across multiple Valley -Wide Health Systems clinic locations. This role ensures high -quality patient-centered care consistent with FQHC standards while supporting site-level nursing leaders as well as nursing positions outside of the clinical teams. The RDN collaborates closely with medical behavioral health and administrative teams to maintain excellence in clinical operations quality improvement and compliance with HRSA and state requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Quality Improvement

  • Provide direct leadership and mentorship to RN Leads Rx Refill Nurses Nurse Family Partnership Nurse/MA Educators and Lab Coordinators across multiple Valley-Wide sites.
  • Standardize nursing workflows and evidence-based practices across the region.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives aligned with HRSA UDS measures and PCMH standards.
  • Participate in clinical policy development and annual review cycles.
  • Consultation and coordination with Regional Directors of Operation is required in this role.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with HRSA OSHA HIPAA CLIA state nursing regulations and vaccine program guidelines including Vaccines for Children (VFC).
  • Collaborate with compliance with clinical audits infection control practices incident reporting and root-cause analyses.
  • Participate in the Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) program as needed and lead regional efforts to improve VFC immunization workflows reduce missed opportunities and enhance on-time vaccination rates. Represent nursing for AAAHC site audits within region.

Operational Oversight

  • Monitor nursing operations across the region including staffing scheduling models productivity and EHR workflow optimization aligned with organization-wide standards
  • Support Valley-Wides integrated care model by collaborating with medical behavioral health and administrative leaders.
  • Assist with budget development and resource allocation for clinical needs.

Staff Development & Leadership

  • Oversee onboarding evaluations and continuing education for clinical nursing and nursing leadership.
  • Oversee in-house medical assistant training Valley Wide Medical Assistant Preparation (VMAP).
  • Foster a collaborative trauma-informed and culturally responsive nursing environment.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate competency -based education.

Strategic Planning & System Support

  • Participate in organizational planning population health initiatives and cross-departmental project teams.
  • Support emergency preparedness care coordination initiatives and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Masters degree in nursing or Registered Nurse (RN) with an active unrestricted Colorado license
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience including at least 3 years in a leadership role within an FQHC or similar setting
  • Experience with quality improvement and multi-site leadership
  • Strong understanding of FQHC operations HRSA requirements and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with HRSA Operational Site Visit (OSV) expectations
  • Strong leadership coaching and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience with EHR systems and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to manage change and support organizational initiatives.
  • Cultural competence working with rural and underserved populations.
  • Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel regularly within the region.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Location & Type of Job: This job is a full-time onsite job located in La Junta Colorado.
