Join the City of Busseltons Statutory Planning team andcontribute to the delivery of well-considered development outcomesacross a diverse and growing region. Youll be responsible for theassessment and determination of a wide range of developmentapplications; from residential to commercial and tourism proposalseach offering its own set of considerations. Your contribution willhelp ensure planning decisions align with the Citys strategicobjectives and planning framework.

What youll be doing:

As a Planning Officer youll be the go-to expert forprofessional planning advice working with a wide range ofstakeholders across the Busselton community. Your days will befilled with variety challenge and impact including:

  • Assessing development applications - from single houses to commercial and tourism projects.
  • Reviewing subdivision proposals - residential rural and commercial.
  • Providing expert advice to developers government agencies and the community.
  • Conducting site visits in breathtaking locations like Dunsborough Eagle Bay and Yallingup.
  • Assisting in the development and review of local planning policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the Citys strategic planning goals and Local Planning Scheme.

What youll bring to the role:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and sound judgement.
  • Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning or similar qualification / relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in statutory planning.
