About the role Mō te tūranga mahi

Operating as a Centre of Excellence Enterprise Procurement supports the delivery of ACCs strategy through greater efficiency stronger crossorganisational collaboration and improved outcomes. The Procurement Improvement Lead is an important leadership role supporting the ongoing development of the Enterprise Procurement function. The role focuses on embedding good practice making procurement simpler more consistent and easier to use in practice while lifting capability governance and user experience over time.

Reporting to the Manager Procurement Capability and Performance the Procurement Improvement Lead is responsible for leading improvement initiatives across ACCs procurement frameworks policies systems and tools. The role is focused on continuous improvement delivering practical change that strengthens consistency supports governance and compliance and improves how procurement is experienced by both procurement teams and business users.

The role also contributes to procurement governance and reporting providing accurate highquality insights to support decisionmaking assurance and performance. Working closely with stakeholders across ACC and externally and with one direct report the focus is on embedding best practice and supporting efficient transparent and effective procurement operations.

The appointing salary for this role is $101287 $142993 based on experience and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution. About you Mōu

Were looking for an experienced procurement professional who enjoys improving ways of working and supporting modern fit for purpose procurement practices. The role requires experience balancing business needs with governance and assurance requirements and the ability to implement improvements that work in practice.

You will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant commercial or procurement discipline
  • Experience leading procurement improvement continuous improvement and capability uplift in complex organisations including the design and delivery of practical improvements that enhance business experience while balancing governance risk and compliance
  • Capability in developing and maintaining procurement policies procedures systems and frameworks aligned to organisational strategy with a sound understanding of assurance practices and the application of the NZ Government Procurement Rules in practice
  • Strong strategic thinking and influence skills with the ability to communicate effectively build trusted relationships and engage a wide range of stakeholders including presenting to diverse audiences
  • Experience leading or supporting others with a focus on development and performance
  • Ability to turn insights and data into initiatives that improve process policy and stakeholder relationships
  • Knowledge and understanding of the health sector and other relevant industry sectors
  • Proven performance in the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the design of policies systems and processes
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
