As a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician at our Newark OH facility you willbe responsible forthe Maintenance of extrusion equipment and associatedprocesses..

This role offers a starting pay between $38.37 and $40.71per hour (paid bi-weekly). Major Responsibilities

• Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following all Covestro standard operating procedures

• Repair andmaintainprocess control systems programmable logic controllers HMI programs laboratory instrumentation instrumentation systems and electrical controls

• Repair andmaintainmachinery and mechanical equipment such as extruders pelletizers screeners vacuum pumps heat exchangers electric motors and compressors

• Troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems cooling towers and chillers hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Troubleshoot PLC HMI programs

• Program control systems

• Monitor project start-ups

• Design electrical systems and instrument control loops

• Evaluate instrument and electrical hardware

• Communicate with manufacturers field engineers as needed

• Initiate purchase requisitions for parts and equipment

• Repairs or replaces defective parts using hand or power tools

• Performs preventive maintenance on all systems and equipment

• Trouble shoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Perform basic pipefitting tasks

• Dismantles devices to gain access to and for removal of defective parts; using hoists cranes handtoolsand power tools

• Lubricates and cleans parts

• Coordinates and schedules projects with maintenance productionlaboratoryand storeroom

• Inspects used parts todeterminechanges in dimensional requirements using rules calipers micrometers and other measuring instruments

• Installs and removes machinesutilizingvarious rigging devices

• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections

• Repairs andmaintainsHVAC systems coolingtowersand chillers

• Repairsbarrel cooling systems (steam)

What You Offer

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in Maintenance troubleshooting of electrical instrumentation and pneumatic control systems

• Required to take WorkKeys Test and receive qualifying test scores on the following assessments: WorkplaceDocuments(6) Applied Math(6) Applied Technology(5)and Graphic Literacy(5)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electromechanical Technology or closely related degree and 2 yearsof experience in Maintenance troubleshooting of electrical instrumentation andpneumatic control systems

• Experience using Allen Bradley equipment

Knowledge & Skills:

• Obtain/maintaina valid forklift license

• Ability to read and understand diagram sketches operation manuals

• Ability tooperateWindows-based computer systems as well as ability to use SAP system to perform maintenance and engineering tasks

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
