Job Summary
STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Location: Remote South Africa
Working Hours: Full-Time Monday to Friday Flexible (40 hours/week). Standard work hours are 7am 1pm EST with flexibility for the remaining hours.
Salary: $1500$1800 USD/month

The Staff Accountant will:
- Perform daily bookkeeping and data entry tasks in QuickBooks Online
- Complete monthly financial statements accurately and on time
- Manage journal entries and fixed asset schedules
- Execute cleanup projects and bring historical books up to date
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Communicate directly with clients and team members to ensure accurate and timely deliverables
- Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for all work performed
- Adhere to deadlines and contribute to ongoing process improvements

Key Responsibilities
- Client-Facing & Reporting
- Prepare review and present monthly financial statements and reporting packets to clients
- Explain financial results clearly and confidently to non-accounting stakeholders
- Respond to client questions and proactively identify areas of concern or improvement
- Maintain strong client relationships through professional timely communication
- Prepare full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Ensure bank credit card and balance sheet reconciliations are completed correctly and on time
- Process journal entries adjustments and backup for supporting documentation
- Ensure adherence to U.S. accounting standards and internal best practices
- Assist with special projects process improvements and internal initiatives
- Help organize and prioritize work across clients and the internal team
- Support workflow management using tools such as Asana and SharePoint
- Contribute to the ongoing development of systems and procedures as the firm grows
- 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience with strong full-cycle knowledge
- Advanced experience with QuickBooks Online (certification required)
- Strong understanding of U.S. accounting principles reconciliations and financial statements
- Proven experience in a client-facing role presenting and explaining financials
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently manage priorities and thrive in a fast-growing environment
- Comfort working remotely with reliable internet and professional workspace
- Experience with Asana SharePoint or similar task/time management tools
