LOCATION: London Television Centre Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 110000 - 140000 plus 5441 London Weighting depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience and an on-target bonus of 25% depending on company performance. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role leads the finance team and creates the financial strategy for a 300m Scripted portfolio aligning commercial and editorial goals. The Director of Finance Scripted provides governance performance oversight and drives transformation through a high-performing team. It involves partnering and supporting the Scripted MD to lead and transform the division.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Lead strategic financial planning across Scripted aligning commercial success with creative ambition.
- Act as the senior finance partner to the MD influencing high-level decisions and content strategy.
- Drive long-term financial strategy and performance improvement across the genre.
- Provide expert insight and challenge to the Scripted Leadership Team identifying opportunities and industry trends.
- Oversee finance workstreams for acquisitions and integrations ensuring seamless execution.
- Champion innovation collaboration and continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
- Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary finance team fostering talent and aligning with BBC-wide transformation goals.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Proven track record of strategic financial leadership within a complex Scripted media environment.
- Experience leading a geographically diverse finance team supporting a broad Scripted business of both in-house and indie labels.
- Ability to drive a finance function to be nimble and responsive to demanding entrepreneurial pressures.
- Experience delivering effective financial systems controls and reporting which includes a track record of delivering continuous improvement across a team of 10 finance professionals
- Demonstrated ability to influence editorial and commercial decision-making at board or executive level.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the media sector including the end-to-end production and distribution cycle AVEC Soft Money and regional incentives.
- Experience managing significant budgets and understanding key financial drivers.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA ACCA CIMA or equivalent).
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Experience leading M&A activity within the media sector including strategic evaluation financial modelling and post-deal integration across creative and operational teams.
- Strong understanding of the BBCs regulatory and contractual obligations (or equivalent experience).
