STV is seeking a Technical Project Manager - Education for the Construction Management team in Austin TX.
The Technical Project Manager Education is responsible for leading K12 and highereducation facility projects from planning through closeout with a focus on project management construction delivery stakeholder coordination and technology/low-voltage integration. This role blends program management oversight (multiple projects budgets and schedules) with hands-on project management of individual assignments ensuring quality safety and client satisfaction across all phases.
Responsibilities include:
Lead multiple education facility projects from design through construction and closeout serving as the owners representative to ensure scope budget and schedule objectives are achieved. (resume)
Oversee the activities of assigned Assistant Project Managers and support staff providing mentoring task direction and performance feedback.
Exercise administrative authority over construction management field engineering and project controls activities on assigned projects including documentation RFIs submittals and change management.
Proven ability to supervise mentor and hold contractors and technical teams accountable for quality safety and schedule performance.
Serve as a mentor and technical resource to lessexperienced staff fostering professional growth and accountability while driving consistent delivery excellence and positive client outcomes.
Manage construction quality and evaluate progress through regular site visits punch walks and coordination with contractors design teams and campus stakeholders.
Monitor project schedule scope and budget including review of construction change requests schedule impacts/delays owners allowance usage and contingency drawdowns.
Collaborate with the Director of Design and consultants to review and ensure completeness and accuracy of design changes responses to RFIs cost estimates and requests for design services.
Provide field alteration oversight through non-conformance reporting corrective action tracking and documentation of as-built conditions.
Maintain thorough project records and reporting through daily reports jobsite photos meeting minutes and decision logs.
Review schedules of values progress payment applications and change orders for monthly invoices and budget tracking.
Prepare and present weekly and monthly status reports to clients internal leadership and other stakeholders summarizing schedule budget risks and key decisions.
Coordinate low voltage technology security electronics and information systems scope with design teams integrators and district/owner IT departments to ensure alignment with district/campus standards and project goals.
Support procurement activities such as RFP/RFQ development proposal evaluations and contractor selection processes for construction and technology packages.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to contract requirements building codes and district standards on all projects.
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in construction management engineering architecture facilities management licensed as a master electrician or a related technical field; candidates with degrees in information technology or project management will also be considered. An additional 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience. This requirement may be waived for Master Electricians that have led electrical/technology centric projects of a scope greater than $3 million.
Exceptional technical and project management skills
Proven ability to manage scope schedule and budget across multiple concurrent projects including change management forecasting and risk mitigation
Capability to manage competing demands on multiple client projects simultaneously
Ability to prioritize and handle challenges on an independent basis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare clear reports meeting minutes and client presentations
Proficiency with standard project management and construction tools (e.g. MS Project or P6 Excel Bluebeam Procore or similar project management systems)
Compensation Range:
