The Maintenance Manager leads maintenance operations for facility infrastructure manufacturing equipment and material handling systems. This role ensures optimal equipment reliability safe operations and continuous improvement of maintenance programs to support production goals.
The Maintenance Manager supervises the maintenance team manages preventive maintenance programs oversees repairs and capital improvements and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
Lead maintenance activities for production equipment packaging systems vehicles and facility infrastructure.
Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical electrical and PLC-controlled equipment issues.
Coordinate inspections service schedules and equipment repairs with internal teams and external vendors.
Team Leadership
Supervise coach and develop a team of maintenance technicians (typically 610 employees).
Recruit hire train and evaluate maintenance staff.
Plan and assign work schedules and ensure maintenance coverage across shifts.
Foster a strong safety culture and lead regular safety meetings.
Facilities & Asset Management
Oversee maintenance and improvement of buildings equipment vehicles and fixed assets.
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers for specialized repair work.
Evaluate equipment replacement needs and participate in capital planning.
Budget & Cost Control
Manage the department budget and track expenditures (typically up to $1M annually).
Authorize purchases of parts tools and equipment.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure equipment and operations comply with OSHA and applicable state and federal regulations.
Investigate equipment failures incidents and safety concerns.
Implement and maintain safety procedures and documentation.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associate degree in Maintenance Technology Industrial Maintenance Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
510 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Technical Skills
Strong mechanical electrical and troubleshooting expertise
Experience maintaining PLC-controlled machinery
Knowledge of packaging equipment conveyors and material handling systems preferred
Experience with maintenance management systems or purchasing systems
Additional Skills

Project management and planning experience
Ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement
Strong written and verbal communication skills
