Assists investigators as coordinator otherwise known as a community health worker or community patient navigator for community outreach for the Memory and Aging Project (MAP); may be responsible for multiple research studies simultaneously acting as a liaison with the school sponsoring agency community and study participants; has increasing responsibility for managing and recording all phases of study protocol as required by sponsoring agency to ensure compliance. The position will partner with the research team to continue to cultivate culturally tailored care increase diversity and inclusion provide a welcoming environment for research and create and maintain new research partnerships.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Liases with the research participants and their study partners investigator community partners and study team to connect participants with resources to address needs discovered during their research visit.
- Manages participant referrals from community partners performs study screening and serves as an ongoing point of contact for participants and their study partners.
- Confers with investigator to assist in developing plans for research projects and discuss the interpretation of results; collaborates in the preparation of manuscripts for publications and preparation of grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; assists in the preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study design as appropriate while maintaining an environment that is safe comfortable and culturally appropriate for patients and their families.
- Coordinates the culturally tailored development of forms questionnaires and the application of research techniques; assists in writing instructional procedure manuals for study progress data collection and coding; reviews journals abstracts and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous studies to aid in the planning of new studies.
- Routinely and with increasing independence implements manages and ensures timely completion of all phases of study/protocol; assists investigator with development of participant recruitment plan; has increasing responsibility for: ensuring compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; establishing record-keeping systems; making assessments and determinations of participants progress in the study and recording results into study database; analyzing investigating and reporting adverse events; making decisions as when to notify investigator of emergent issues when to recommend stopping participant inclusion and/or to make and/or recommend adjustment of the protocol of particular participants; resolving IRB/protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate; and serving as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency.
- Evaluates analyzes and interprets qualitative and/or quantitative data of moderate complexity in conjunction with PI as applicable and appropriate; with increasing independence prepares oral or written presentations or reports and analyses setting forth progress trends and provides recommendations or conclusions of the same.

$52600.00 - $78900.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
