opportunity for a clinicianresearcher with experience in pediatric neurology within the childrens hospital at Westmead clinical school
Base Salary $112628 (Pro rata) 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The University of Sydney is seeking a highly capable Research Assistant to support and drive highimpact research initiatives within the childrens hospital at Westmead clinical school. Working closely with the head of school this role provides strategic and operational leadership across research activities grant acquisition and datadriven research delivery in a researchintensive clinical environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinicianresearcher or research professional with experience in pediatric neurology an interest in neuroimmunology and exposure to advanced therapeutics and clinical trial methodology to contribute to worldclass translational research with meaningful clinical impact.
key responsibilities
guide research direction and priorities ensuring alignment with broader university and faculty strategic goals
evaluate and optimise grant management processes to maximise funding opportunities and successful grant outcomes
champion best practice research methodologies driving innovation while ensuring regulatory and ethical compliance
direct the design and implementation of advanced research data management systems to support datadriven insights
manage and strengthen external research partnerships and collaborations to enhance research impact and reputation
lead research documentation reporting and publication approaches to ensure effective dissemination of findings
foster open communication and collaboration within research teams and across stakeholders
oversee report compilation to meet institutional standards and proactively address compliance issues
coordinate purchasing activities and resolve discrepancies related to research payments or invoicing
monitor risk workplace health and safety and adherence to university policies and governance requirements.
About You
You are experienced research professional or clinician with strong leadership capability excellent judgement and a collaborative approach. You bring both strategic oversight and practical research expertise within complex academic or clinical environments.
a bachelors degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
clinical or research experience in paediatric neurology with a demonstrated interest in neuroimmunology
experience supporting or delivering research involving advanced therapeutics
working knowledge of clinical trial methodology and research governance
experience coordinating or managing grant application processes
strong experience in research administration data management and research reporting
demonstrated people management or supervisory experience
experience working in a researchintensive environment preferably within the higher education sector
skills and capabilities
strong written and verbal communication skills
excellent analytical critical thinking and problemsolving abilities
high attention to detail with strong planning and organisational skills
proficiency with research software and data analysis tools
ability to work independently while fostering collaboration and trust
sound judgement in managing risk compliance and competing priorities
