Make an impact in Public Health Leadership
Core Responsibilities:
In this role you will lead and oversee a public health program an assigned geographic area. Youll play a key role in strengthening community health by guiding programs; assessing community needs; and partnering with clinics physicians nurses community groups and individuals. This position operates with a high level of independence and leadership responsibility performed under limited supervision.
You will also:
Lead and Support Your Team
- Supervise Staff across the geographic area to ensure program goals and objectives are achieved.
- Recruit interview direct train assign and evaluate team members to support high quality public health services.
Strengthen Community Health
- Assess and respond to community and regional public health needs
- Develop or adapt health care and disease prevention plans
- Provide technical assistance to improve health services in your region
Drive Program Operations
- Implement agency programs policies and standards to ensure quality nursing and public health services
- Plan and facilitate staff meetings to share updates and address operational needs
- Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available
Ensure Compliance and Equity
- Apply human resource laws policies and practices (including AA/EEO recruitment performance management and employee safety)
- Support a fair safe and equitable workplace
Inform Strategy and Decision
- Prepare reports records and surveys to document program services and outcomes
- Contribute programmatic and financial information to support planning budgeting and policy development
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
A seven (7) year combination of education and experience in professional nursing.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS:
(These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).
Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse as issued by the State Board of Nursing and a valid Maine drivers license.
Preferred candidateswill also have:
- Knowledge of public health nursing including applicable laws education and administration.
- Knowledge of personnel management techniques and procedures.
- Ability to develop policies procedures and budgets.
- Ability to plan and implement comprehensive orientation and training programs.
