Our challenge

We are seeking a Python Backend Engineer to join an enterprise analytics and AI platform team. This role focuses on building and operating Python based backend services that support analytical workflows AI assisted processing and document centric use cases. candidate will design build and maintain microservices deployed on a container platform integrate with enterprise systems and support regulated production releases with strong reliability observability and operational discipline.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other accordance with law the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte NC/Dallas TX is$105k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Build Large Language Model (LLM)powered applications that enable advanced capabilities for internal Wells Fargo users with a focus on agentic workflows prompt engineering evaluations and safety guardrails.
• Develop systems leveraging LLMs including data ingestion pipelines reliable service orchestration backend application state management and data layer implementation.
• Design code test and document solutions aligned with business objectives and enterprise standards.
• Collaborate and consult with key technical experts and crossfunctional technology teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Participate actively across the full software development lifecycle from design through production support.
• Own application development maintenance and adherence to security requirements.
• Partner closely with Indiabased stakeholders for requirement clarification and solution discussions.
• Collaborate with Product Scrum Master Developers QA and other stakeholders as needed.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies and contribute to strategy discussions for future capability development.

Requirements:

• 7 years of backend application development experience with strong proficiency in Python and NoSQL databases particularlyMongoDB.
• Strong handson experience with Agentic AI frameworks such as Google ADK (preferred) LangChain or LangGraph including the design and implementation of multiagent systems.
• Experience building GenAIenabled solutions including RetrievalAugmented Generation (RAG) and agentic workflows with a solid understanding of prompt engineering grounding and extensibility.
• Indepth experience with Python libraries and tools such as NumPy Pandas and PyMongo.
• Design develop and deploy Pythonbased microservices using FastAPI.
• Design and implement secure REST APIs consumed by Reactbased applications and integrate with upstream/downstream interface systems.
• Implement eventdriven architectures using messaging platforms such as Kafka RabbitMQ or ActiveMQforasynchronous processing.
• Experience working with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and clients to securely expose internal services APIs and data stores to LLMs.
• Strong experience writing complex MongoDB queries and performing data aggregation.
• Understanding of cloudnative principles with handson experience developing applications in cloud environments; OpenShift (OCP) experience is preferred.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub GitHub Actions Harness JFrog Artifactory Sonar OpenShift/Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks including Pytest and MagicMock.
• Working knowledge of ML and NLP concepts including GCP services such as Document AI Information Retrieval Summarization and LLMs.
• Experience working in an Agile software development lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of high availability scalability and resilience in distributed systems.
• Ability to design and implement efficient multithreading and concurrency in backend services.

Preferred but not required:

• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to reason through complex problems independently or collaboratively.
• Ability to mentor team members on solution design and implementation best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate team dynamics and exercise sound judgment to achieve outcomes.
• Understanding of Banking/Lending domain.
