Trim Manufacturing Machine Operator

Overview:

A Machine Operator (Slitting Machine) will have experience operating and maintaining machinery specifically slitting machines a strong understanding of production processes and a commitment to safety and quality. As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for setting up operating and maintaining slitting machines to ensure efficient and accurate production of products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate slitting machines according to specifications and instructions.

• Monitor slitting machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Adjust slitting machine settings as necessary to maintain optimal performance.

• Inspect slit materials/products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

• Identify and report any defects or issues with the slitting machinery or products.

• Perform daily routine quality checks.

• Report any machine malfunctions and issues to the supervisor.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machines.

• Ensure that all safety devices and guards are in place and functioning correctly.

• Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to a workplace safety culture.

• Maintain accurate records of production quantities.

• Communicate any production issues or concerns to supervisors and management.

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety instructions.

• Assist in training new machine operators including slitting machine operation.

• Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

• Assist with bi-annual plant inventories.

• Keep equipment clean and maintained.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of slitting machine operation and maintenance procedures.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Forklift experience is preferred.

• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy (25lbs ) materials.
